Kakojan College Institution Repository

An Institutional Repository (also referred to as digital repository) is a repository with a focused collection of digital objects that can include text, visual material, audio material, video material, stored as electronic media formats, along with means for organizing, storing, and retrieving the files and media contained in the library collection. Kakojan College's Institutional Repository is a digital service that collects, preserves, and distributes digital material for the benefit of the teaching and learning communities of the Institution.

Library OPAC (Book Search)

An Library OPAC (online public access catalogue) (Book Search) is an online database of materials held by a library. Users search a library catalog principally to locate books and other material available at a library. Library OPAC is the gateway to library's collection.

About Library

Kakojan College Central Library was established in 1967. The Central Library has 12,266 nos. of textbooks, 1794 nos. of reference books and 21 nos. of journals/magazines. The College Library has a reading room with an 80+ seating capacity for library patrons. There is a separate reading area for the faculty members of the college. The library is an active member of the National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST) and the National Digital Library of India (NDLI). The library patrons can access 1,99,500 + E-books and 6,000+E-journals available in the N-LIST database and 8,78,67,300 + E-books through NDLI. The library is equipped with CCTV cameras for surveillance and the entire library complex is Wi-Fi enabled. The library also offers reprographic service. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is made available for library users to know the status of the availability of the books and documents in the library. The Library has a separate corner of women studies and “Sankar Madhab Corner” (Established in the name of Vaishnavite saint and cultural icon of Assam: Mahapurush Sankardeva and Madhavdeva), where books are donated by the faculty members of the institution. Apart from the regular students of the institution, the facilities of the library have been utilized by the students of the study centre of Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) and Distance Education Study Centre under Dibrugarh University.
